Teledentistry protocol for the elderly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic through a web platform/mobile app: approach from the general dentist.

Objective: To generate teledentistry protocols for urgent and priority dental care the elderly population through a technological web platform mobile application in context of COVID-19 pandemic. Material Methods: Teledentistry were developed five sequential steps: Staff training, Patient recruitment, admission, reception care. Reasons admission categorized urgencies treatment. Results: The most prevalent reasons consultation prosthesis mismatch (18.37%), pain (16.33%) fractured teeth (14.29%). In by need treatment: due to infection or (24.44%) avoid pulp involvement (26.67%). rest did not require immediate attention. Regarding OHIP-14Sp survey prior care, which patients consulted problems with their teeth, mouth prosthesis, two questions answered per dimension, each dimension following values obtained: functional limitation (71.30% 50.44%), physical (68.97% 70.18%), psychological discomfort (75.00% 74.14%), disability (57.39% 46.09%), (37.72% 53.91%), social (33.91% 30.97%) handicap (27.83% 25.86%).
